Mr. Basil Naar, 2007 - 2010

Mr. Naar is at present the General Manager of Churches Cooperative Credit Union Ltd.

He has vast experience in the Jamaica Financial Sector.

He started his career when he joined the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Ltd as a Management Trainee and served as a Loan 0fficer.
He joined the Jamaica and Citizens Bank and became the youngest Branch Manager in the history of the Jamaica Citizens Bank where he was awarded the accolade of Citizens Banker of the decade from the Atlanta, Georgia based Citizens and Southern National Bank.

He joined the Workers Bank after a stint as an Analyst in the Investment and Banking Group at Merrill Lynch, and became Head of the Corporate and Mortgage Divisions of the Workers Bank and eventually Senior General Manager for the Retail Banking Network of thirty Branches and 113 Post Office banks with over 800 personnel..

He has served as a Consultant in debt restructuring and project financing to a number of Companies and Entities. His activities assisted them in alleviating their debt burden and placing them on a sounder financial footing.

Mr.Naar has also served as a Director of several Companies in the Manufacturing and Financial Service Sectors, and now he serves as a Director of the Board of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, the Jamaica Information Service, and Charlie Smith High School, where he is the Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Naar was educated at St. Georges College, the University of the West Indies and Columbia University.
