THE EXECUTIVE
Mr. Mark G. R. Myers,
PRESIDENT
Mr. Myers is a past student of the University of the West Indies (1983-1984) and Syracuse University School of Management in Syracuse, New York. He attained a Bachelor of Science degree in May of 1988 with majors in Operations Management, Transportation and Distribution Management.
While at the University of the West Indies, Mr. Myers was employed as an Assistant Commissary Manager and Computer Analyst at Restaurants of Jamaica Ltd. In the summer of 1986, while pursuing his B.Sc. at the Syracuse University, he returned to Restaurants of Jamaica Ltd. as the Commissary and Purchasing Advisor. Mr. Myers is presently the General Manager of Restaurants of Jamaica.
For recreation, sailing, fishing, bird shooting (seasonal) and squash are his ideal pastime.
Mr. Edward Khoury,
1st VICE PRESIDENT
A civil engineer by profession with over 12 years experience in the field, Edward Khoury has been a senior executive manager with the ATL Group of Companies since he joined the Group in 1994 as CARIBRAKE’s Managing Director. In 1998 he took up the post of Managing Director of the Group’s flagship company, Appliance Traders Limited, where he bolstered the company’s retail presence in the market. In October 2005, he was appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Observer. Mr. Khoury’s earlier work as an engineer includes project management in highway construction in his native Trinidad and Tobago with Trinidad Engineering and Research Ltd., and in housing here in Jamaica with West Indies Home Contractors, as well as other projects with Alcoa Minerals of Jamaica.
A former director of the Jamaica Manufacturer’s Association, Mr. Khoury is currently the 2nd Vice President of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce. The father of two teenage sons, he holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science (B.E.Sc) from the University of Western Ontario. When not working, Mr. Khoury indulges in catching up on computer technology, reading, water skiing and bird shooting.
Mr. Francis Kennedy, 2nd VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Milton Samuda, 3rd VICE PRESIDENT
Mr. Samuda is an Attorney-at-Law and Partner in the law firm Myers, Fletcher & Gordon. He was educated at St Hugh’s Preparatory School, Wolmer’s Boys’ School, the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School.
A member of his firm’s Commercial Department, Mr. Samuda has a mixed practice consisting of Hotel\Project Financing and Corporate Securities (which accounts for the majority of his time); Entertainment and Sports; Trade and CSME; Maritime and Transportation; and Estate Planning and Offshore Advice.
Mr. Samuda is a member of the Board of the RJR Communications Group, the JAMPRO Offshore Working Group, Chairman of Television Jamaica, and is a member of several other Boards including commercial and voluntary organizations.
Mrs. Millicent Lynch, 4th VICE PRESIDENT
Ms. Elizabeth Hartley, Hon. TREASURER
Ms. Hartley holds a BSc (Physics) from the University of Sussex and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. She worked with Ernst & Young from 1991 to 2001 after aiding in the establishment of the Jamaican office of the Caribbean practice of Ernst & Young. She then left July 2002 to start her own business, Accounting Options, Chartered Accountants which is involved mainly in business advisory and consulting.
She has lived in Jamaica for approximately seventeen years after migrating from the UK and has been involved over the period in many community organizations including being treasurer of AWOJA. She is a Council member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Jamaica, a member of the Taxation Committee of Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Course Developer for ACCA courses delivered by the Student Accountancy Training Consortium.
Her pastimes include playing squash and reading.
